Bunked off work early to get me to the beach at about 3.30pm to find Paul sitting waiting for the wind. It was slightly offshore so misleading to look at. While we chatted it picked up a notch and I rigged my big kit. There was nothing off the beach, but a bit further out I was fully powered and having a great time. I kept coming too far in and losing the wind, but still was planing 80% of the time. Some really big ramps got me flying the big board higher than its ever been before, which was an unexpected bonus. Sailing in the fading light isn\'t the nicest, but still way better than being at work and having had so long without wind, it was just great to be back out on the water. Very glad I went.
